A Healthy Option
A chance to go out for lunch instead of going to the gym… and still feel good about yourself!
Everything on the menu is organic. Start your meal with a freshly squeezed juice or just pop in for a fruit smoothie when a snack-attack hits. Organic House is a little on the pricey side but that’s largely down to the quality and provenance of the ingredients. Local suppliers are used where possible and the meat served is guaranteed to be free-range and reared on organic feed rather than on hormones and antibiotics – a fairly rare luxury even in Hebden Bridge.
Breakfasts are served 9am-noon. Meaty, vegetarian and vegan lunches include soups, platters, healthy burgers, stuffed baked potatoes, chillis and salads. The Welsh rarebits and Scottish mackerel are favourites. Breakfasts and lunches are priced at £4-£8; daily specials up to £11; juices and smoothies are £3-£4; kids’ meals from £2.35. Takeaways are available.
There’s a range of coffees, teas, tisanes and hot toddies as well as organic beers and wines. For a touch of decadence after a wholesome meal, browse the brimming cake cabinet.
Organic House has wifi, newspapers, an upstairs ‘lounge’ with sofas and coffee tables and a tiny courtyard garden
